Shellharbour

The Lake Illawarra to Shellharbour walk. Our hidden gem!

This location is breath taking! Even if this is not your closest location we suggest you do at least one session here!

You will have the choice between a barefoot beach walk or ocean walk pathway- whichever you choose you will not be dissapointed!

There is plenty of parking, seated and undercover areas, with views of course, for those who prefer to sit back and leave the walking part out.

This is a quiet, scenic area that has it all!

Meeting point

Here is a map of where you meet your psychologist in Shellharbour, but don’t stress, they will give you a call the day before your session just to introduce themselves and to let you know exactly where you will find them! They will also remind you of any documents that you will need to bring along to the session, but most of all, they will make you feel at ease about the exciting journey you are about to go on!

What do our Shellharbour Psychologists specialise in?

There are a number of reasons why people choose to book in with one of our Shellharbour Psychologists. At times, a friend or person close to them recommends our service as they may have had some experience with our Psychologists. At other times, they may have heard about us and know that we might be the right fit! As Walk Different offers an alternative to the clinical office and a more relaxed approach to get professional help, we are often told that sitting down in an office was not suited for our client and that they needed something more natural.

Our Shellharbour Psychologists

Our Shellharbour Psychologists come with their own special skill sets, experience and area of interest. Below is a little bit of information about each one of them.

Claire

Claire explains her favourite part of the role

“It’s incredibly inspiring to watch the courage, hope and growth of the people that I work with. I learn something new from each person, young and old, and I feel so humbled to be able to do this work. It’s an honour and great privilege to share in another person’s story. “

Claire has a special interest in depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues, stress management, separation anxiety, and working with children.

Erin

Erin explains her favourite part of the role

“One of my favourite parts about being a psychologist is being able to hold an empathic space for others in order for them to come to understand themselves better and in turn make decisions more in line with with their values. “

Erin has a special interest in suicidal ideation (or thoughts), as well as anxiety, depression, bereavement and grief/loss.

Ashley

Ash explains her favourite part of the role:

I love seeing the strength and courage in people even if they don’t see it themselves. I feel very privileged to share in another persons journey. I love always learning something new from the people I work with.

Ash has a special interest in depression, anxiety, addictions, grief and loss, stress management, parenting strategies and self care..

Helen

Helen explains her favourite part of the role:

“My favourite part is learning about the strengths of each person and asking the real questions – not being distracted by the surface level issues. I am constantly amazed by the resilience each person has and how far they have come in their life journey.”

Helen specialises in Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Sleep Hygiene, Relaxation and Self-Care, Parenting strategies and Improving Communication.
